Manual vs. Scheduled Scans

Understand the difference between on-demand manual scans and automatic scheduled scans.

Geordy supports both on-demand (manual) scans and automatic (scheduled) scans based on your cadence.

Manual Scans

Use manual scans for:

  • Newly added pages that need immediate processing
  • Urgent updates after content changes
  • Troubleshooting or validating format generation

How to Run a Manual Scan

1

Click Manual Scan

Find the Manual Scan button on your Dashboard.
2

Paste URLs

Enter one or more URLs (one per line) that you want to scan immediately.
3

Choose settings

Select Priority level and which Formats to generate for these URLs.
4

Run the scan

Click the confirmation button to start processing. Results appear in the queue within seconds.

Manual scans override normal scheduling for those URLs and are processed immediately.

On-Demand Processing

1
Enter URLs
2
Click Scan Now
Immediate Processing

Best for: Urgent updates, new pages, troubleshooting

Scheduled Scans

Scheduled scans occur automatically based on the cadence you selected in Enable File Formats. You can assign a different cadence for each format or URL group.

Cadence Options

Daily

Best for dynamic or news-heavy content that changes frequently. Ensures AI systems always have the latest information.

Weekly

Recommended for product collections, listings, or frequently updated blogs. Balances freshness with resource efficiency.

Monthly

For evergreen pages such as About, Policies, or static content that rarely changes.

To adjust cadence, open the URLs list and modify the "Frequency" column for any URL.
