How files work

One file is one format generated for one page: the first build and every refresh after it. So your monthly usage is pages × formats enabled × refreshes per month. That is the same unit your plan allowance is written in and the same one the dashboard counts.

If you have seen this called credits, it is the same thing counted under an older name: one credit was one file. Files are the unit your plan allowance is written in, and the unit the dashboard counts.

Quick examples

• 1 page, weekly: 1 page × 3 formats × 4.33 ≈ 13 files/month
• Top 5 pages, weekly: 5 × 3 × 4.33 ≈ 65 files/month
• 25 pages, weekly: 25 × 5 × 4.33 ≈ 541 files/month
• 100 pages, monthly: 100 × 5 × 1 = 500 files/month
• 100 pages, daily: 100 × 8 × 30 = 24,000 files/month

Using fewer files

• Refresh weekly unless the page really changes daily
• Enable only the formats you actually deploy - this is the biggest lever
• Mark pages you do not want structured as excluded, so nothing is generated for them
• Start small - 5 pages, weekly refreshes, 3 formats ≈ 65 files/month
