Link tags on Wix
Where the link tags go on Wix, and the one mistake that turns every page into a copy of one page.
The tag tells AI tools where your files are.
Your page's tags are in the dashboard, under Setup and then Install tags. They carry the real file addresses for that page, so they work as soon as the page is live. This guide is about where they go once you have them.
Where it goes on Wix
In Wix: Settings, then Custom code, then Add code to the Head, paste this in, and set it to this one page rather than All pages.
- In your Wix dashboard, open Settings, then Custom code.
- Choose Add code to the Head, and set it to the single page these tags belong to rather than All pages.
- Paste these tags and save.
What that covers
This block covers the one page you applied it to. Add one per page you want AI tools to read.
Covering every page
To cover every page from one place, your template has to build the file name from the page's own address. That is a small change to your site's code, not a block you can paste. The naming rule is shown with it, and these tags are exactly what it should produce for this page.
The naming rule those tags follow:
- your home page (/) becomes index
- /technology becomes technology
- /docs/setup/ becomes docs/setup
and humans.txt describe the whole site. They are the same address on every page and never take a page name.
