Credit Usage Explained
Learn how Geordy's credit system works and how credits are consumed during file generation.
Credits represent the number of file generations or refreshes Geordy performs. Every time a URL is scanned and its structured formats are regenerated, credits are consumed.
Credit Consumption Rules
1 Credit = 1 Format
Each format generated per URL consumes one credit
The credit calculation is straightforward:
- 1 credit = 1 format generated per URL
- Scanning one page with 5 formats enabled uses 5 credits
- Prioritized URLs or higher cadences (e.g., daily) use more credits due to increased frequency

How Cadence Affects Credit Usage
Your scan cadence (frequency) directly impacts monthly credit consumption:
| Cadence | Scans/Month | Credits (100 URLs × 5 formats) |
|---|---|---|
| Daily | ~30 scans | 15,000 |
| Weekly | ~4 scans | 2,000 |
| Monthly | 1 scan | 500 |
Credit Refill Schedule
Credits reset automatically each month on your billing renewal date. For example:
- If you subscribed on January 15th, your credits renew on the 15th of every month
- Unused credits do not roll over to the next billing cycle
- Upgrades provide immediate access to your new credit allocation
What Happens to Unused Credits?
Unused credits expire at the end of each billing cycle and do not carry over. To maximize value, consider adjusting your cadence or enabling additional formats if you consistently have credits remaining.
